A non-drip translucent paste epoxy.
Watch Video

PC-SuperEpoxy® is a non-drip translucent paste epoxy suitable for conventional or static mixing. It has unlimited uses in bonding, assembling, filling and sealing most materials. Unlike conventional liquid epoxies, PC-SuperEpoxy® can be applied via a static mix nozzle vertically and overhead. It cures quickly at room temperature to form a resilient, non-conductive bond or seal that resists most chemicals, fresh and salt water, gasoline and fuel oil. Works great bonding steel to wood, fiberglass, aluminum, concrete, brick, glass, block, ceramics, hard plastics and much more. PC-SuperEpoxy® is the toughest, highest strength epoxy we manufacture.

Work Time: 15 minutes and tack free in 60 minutes

Cure Time: 4 hours (12 – 24 hours for full cure)

How to prepare a surface for bonding with PC-SuperEpoxy®

Remove contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil and grime with a solvents such as denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner. Mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Do not use mineral spirits or paint thinner for removing contaminants.

Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper, wire brush or paint stripper.

Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion.

How to clean-up after PC-SuperEpoxy® application

Clean up mixed epoxy before it cures with paper towels and solvent. Denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner are suitable solvents for removing uncured epoxy. Cured epoxy can be removed with paint stripper or remover.

How many iron balusters can be installed per 50 ml cartridge of PC-Superepoxy®?

Typically, 10 to 15 balusters can be installed per 50 ml cartridge of PC-Superepoxy®

Why is PC-Superepoxy® the epoxy chosen by the top stair installers?

PC-Superepoxy® has the best overall properties for securing balusters: PC-Superepoxy® is structurally stronger than other epoxies. PC-Superepoxy® cures hard and tough and does not become brittle. Balusters installed with PC-Superepoxy® can be tested in only a couple of hours. PC-Superepoxy® does not drip when securing the baluster top and hand rail. The 50 ml cartridge with static mix nozzles make the injection of PC-Superepoxy® not messy. PC-SuperEpoxy® is also now available in Black color for wrought iron and metalworking applications.

How strong is PC-Superepoxy®?

Adhesion testing results on steel up to 4000 psi (ASTM D1002).

Is PC-Superepoxy® very flexible?

No, it is hard. Its Modulus of Compression is 108,000 psi and Shore D of 75 – 80.

Does PC-Superepoxy® accept paint?

Yes, but a premium stain sealing primer is recommended.

Does PC-Superepoxy® withstand chemicals?

PC-Superepoxy® has excellent chemical resistance.

How tough is PC-Superepoxy®?

PC-Superepoxy® is so tough that it can be hit repeatedly with a hammer without shattering.

Will PC-11® yellow in direct sunlight?

Yes, PC-11® yellows in direct sunlight. PC-11® resists ultra violet light but will still gradually change color. Prime and paint if the color is important.

How many feet of does the PC-Superepoxy® 50 ml cartridge nozzle dispense?

PC-Superepoxy® can dispense approximately 20 feet of 1/8 inch bead.

Why is there fading dye in the part A?

The fading dye is helpful when mixing. Properly mixing part A and part B causes the dye to disappear.

Can the static mixer be reused?

It is not good practice to reuse the mixing nozzle and they cannot be cleaned. Each cartridge is supplied with 2 mix nozzles. Additional mix nozzles are available.

The PC-Superepoxy® remains sticky

This is an indication that the cartridge may not have been balanced. Before attaching the mix nozzle to a new cartridge, dispense a small amount from the cartridge until the both parts emerge from the tip. It is normal for one side to lead the other initially. Dispose of it then proceed with attachment of the mixing nozzle. Dispose of the initial material dispensed from the nozzle tip.

The blue in part A has faded

Part A contains an indicator dye that will fade with age. Light can make it fade more quickly. Avoid exposing the package to intense sunlight for any extended length of time. This will cause the dye to fade and possibly damage the product.
